Notepad updates include expanded support for lightweight formatting, adding strikethrough formatting and nested lists for Markdown syntax. Updates for Paint are also being rolled out to Windows Insiders in the Canary and Dev Channels on Windows 11.

Microsoft is scaling back its AI initiatives in Windows 11, including a significant reduction of Copilot integrations and a reevaluation of the Recall feature. The decision follows user backlash against the initial AI implementations launched in 2024.
