OpenAI acquired Orchestra Bio, a four-year-old AI biotech software startup that develops agents for drug-discovery operations. Orchestra’s tools help biotechnology companies handle tasks including financial tracking and scheduling issues involving clinical trials. The companies did not disclose the deal’s terms. Orchestra Bio had reportedly raised about $20 million as of 2025 from investors including Andreessen Horowitz, Atria, and 8VC. OpenAI plans to add Orchestra’s team and technology to Rosalind, its AI model for life-sciences research, and Rosalind Workbench, a tool intended to help researchers plan experiments and analyze results. OpenAI says Moderna and Novo Nordisk are among Rosalind’s customers.
