Sleeping Giants Brasil and CTRL+Z submitted new evidence to Brazil’s Superior Electoral Court alleging that Meta’s Instagram, WhatsApp and Meta AI tools may give unequal visibility to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and Sen. Bellizze had ordered Meta to apply identical criteria to both campaigns, and the full electoral court upheld that ruling on Friday. He issued another 24-hour deadline on Sunday and warned the fine could increase to R$1 million daily, about $198,000. Meta has denied deliberately favoring either candidate, attributing earlier problems to technical failures.
Lula supporters protest against Meta to denounce its 'electoral interference'

About 200 supporters of Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva protested outside Meta’s São Paulo headquarters on Monday, six days before the election, accusing the company of favoring opposition candidate Flávio Bolsonaro’s content. The demonstration, organized by the platform Não Se Meta, called on Meta to explain alleged reductions in the reach of Lula-related posts and boosts to Bolsonaro-related material. Activists also raised demands for digital sovereignty and open, transparent Brazilian social-media platforms. Meta Says Claude AI Tool Triggered No Kings Instagram Suspension

Meta Platforms said an automated security system mistakenly suspended the Instagram account of the No Kings Coalition during a nationwide series of demonstrations. The company apologized and provided a more detailed explanation for the disruption. The suspension occurred as the coalition was conducting an early-voting push ahead of the Nov. 3 midterm elections.
