Xiaomi’s Xring O3 processor is presented as a mobile chip with C1-Ultra performance cores, 44 MB of total cache, and support for Arm’s SME2 matrix-extension instructions and SVE2 SIMD instructions. Daniel Lemire says the chip roughly matches Apple cores in single-threaded tasks while delivering substantially higher multithreaded performance. He cites Geekbench scores of 3,945 for single-core performance and 15,221 for multi-core performance. Lemire describes the C1-Ultra as a 21-port core, including six ports that support 128-bit SIMD operations. He says this exceeds the execution-port count of typical Intel and AMD processors, while noting that AMD’s Zen 5 can execute four 512-bit operations. Lemire characterizes six 128-bit SIMD units as the current upper limit for Arm chips to his knowledge. He identifies a trend toward wider processor cores with more arithmetic and SIMD execution units, enabling more independent additions and multiplications per clock cycle. He also highlights the chip’s cache capacity as larger than that of most laptop CPUs. Lemire says Apple could soon announce a newer processor and that phones using the Xring O3 may be difficult to obtain.
